About Nectar of the Vine

Nectar of the Vine is a family-owned specialty beverage company headquartered in Middlefield, Ohio, producing premium Wine Frappé mixes and gourmet drink blends since 2006. The company specializes in small-batch, handcrafted wine slushy mixes inspired by trending cocktails and bold flavor profiles, designed to transform any bottle of wine into a refreshing frozen beverage.

Our Story

Nectar of the Vine traces its roots to 1992, when co-founder Dennis Hart entered the specialty food industry with European Gourmet Almonds, selling maple sugar and roasted nuts alongside his three sons. After years of success in gourmet food, Dennis and his entrepreneurial partner — and now wife — Carol Nastasi launched Nectar of the Vine in 2006 to create a fun, approachable way for people to enjoy wine.

Dennis and Carol have since stepped into a well-earned retirement. Since 2015, the company has operated under the leadership of Carol's son, Anthony Nastasi. A graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture, Anthony spent nearly a decade in architectural project management across Ohio, Wisconsin, and Michigan before returning to Northeast Ohio with his wife and three children to lead the family business. His background in project management, systems, and operations has driven the company's national scale while preserving the craftsmanship and creativity that built it.

Anthony's wife Andria manages event and promoter coordination, actively sourcing new events for Nectar of the Vine to participate in. His brother Nicholas Nastasi oversees warehouse operations, and Connie Andrews (Anthony’s mother-in-law) supports daily office functions — keeping the business rooted in the same family-driven values that started it all. Lisa Wilson, though not a family member by blood, has been with Nectar of the Vine since day one, running office and event logistics from the very beginning.

Each flavor begins with inspiration from popular mixed drinks and modern cocktail trends, reimagined specifically to complement wine. The result is a frozen beverage experience that feels both familiar and completely new.

Built on All-Natural Ingredients

Every mix starts with an all-natural cane sugar base, incorporating real, raw ingredients, including dried fruit flavors. Some blends contain up to five carefully balanced fruit components. Each ratio is meticulously measured, documented, and tested before moving forward.

Once blended with wine and frozen, each recipe goes through team tasting sessions with detailed feedback collected and acted upon. Multiple rounds of refinement ensure every flavor delivers balance, brightness, and drinkability.

Approved recipes are produced in a licensed mixing facility with comprehensive product traceability and recall systems, ensuring strict quality control and food safety compliance at every step.

OUR PROCESS

The creation of a new flavor is an artful blend of innovation and dedication — and it all starts with inspiration from trending mixed cocktails. We reimagine these bold, exciting flavors to craft something truly exceptional when paired with wine.

Our process begins with an all-natural cane sugar base. From there, we introduce raw ingredients like dried fruit flavors. Depending on the profile we’re aiming for, a single mix can feature up to five different dried fruit components, each carefully measured and balanced. Once we’re confident in the ratio, we meticulously record the weights and amounts before blending the mix with wine.

But that’s only the start. We freeze the blend, transforming it into a refreshing wine slushy — and then the real fun begins. Our team holds lively tasting parties, gathering valuable feedback from a group of enthusiastic taste-testers. Every comment is collected, considered, and used to fine-tune the recipe. This trial-and-error phase may take multiple rounds, but achieving the perfect balance of flavors is always worth the effort.

When the recipe is perfected, we manufacture it in our licensed mixing facility.  Our facility also maintains a comprehensive traceability and product recall system to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.

After the mixing process is complete, our handcrafted blended mixes are individually hand-wrapped and labeled with care. From start to finish, our goal remains the same: to create extraordinary flavors that bring people together and make every sip unforgettable.

Meet Our Team

Owner and Operations Manager

Anthony Nastasi

Oversees the daily operations and product production. He enjoys his beautiful family and hosting gatherings with family and friends. He starts his days with a great workout!


 

 

 

 

Owner and Event Coordinator

Andria Nastasi

Andria is Anthony's wife, and Co-Owner.  She works hard at finding new events and shows throughout the country for our reps. Her pride and joy are their three beautiful children. In her rare spare time, she enjoys refinishing furniture and spending time with family and friends.


Warehouse & Production Operations Manager

Nicholas Nastasi

Nicholas Nastasi oversees day-to-day warehouse and production operations at Nectar of the Vine, ensuring sales representatives are prepared for events, production runs execute on schedule, and retail and wholesale orders ship correctly and on time.

Nick manages event-based pack-outs, returns, and inventory flow aligned with the event calendar, directs product allocation during constrained inventory periods based on sales rep performance, sales velocity, and revenue impact, and oversees company fleet readiness and warehouse organization. He staffs and supervises production runs against schedules provided by the Production Manager, ensuring equipment, materials, and labor are prepared in advance, and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety, sanitation, and compliance standards across the facility.

Nick holds ServSafe certification and brings several years of prior food industry experience, including serving as a sous chef at a country club.


Event Coordinator

Lisa Wilson

Always seeking great new events and keeping the entire crew on the straight and arrow! She is best known for her "Happy Chair Dance" that she does when we get into a new event.


Graphic Designer and Marketing Director

Karen Davidson

The marketing and website guru. She knows all things digital and uses her creative mind to promote our product online. When she is not designing, she enjoys painting, RV camping, and trying new wineries.


Warehouse Assistant

Connie Andrews

Manages our inventory and works alongside Nick with warehouse operations. This truly is a family business as she is also Andria's Mother, Anthony's Mother-in-Law.  She enjoys spending time with all her grandchildren, as well as, decorating and painting in her spare time.
